I appreciate the layout of content in the new edition and the updated visual aid on hot topics (e.g., ethics in the social sciences). I have used this book in its 6th edition for 3 years now. I specifically like the mixed-method addition, the use of secondary data, the inclusion of how to ask questions in the appendix, and updates to contemporary events in our social world. These guidelines are useful in my undergraduate course, as students are tasked with formative assessments related to research methods.
