Highly readable, with clear indexing, and cross-referencing between entries, this is not only a student-friendly textbook that will enable the reader to dip into and update their knowledge of a particular key concept, but a valuable resource to anyone practicing in the health care field.
This is a very useful concise list of terms in the field of Health Studies and Medical Sociology. It provides students with short definitions and summaries of the development of those ideas.
It is a very complete overview of the key concepts. It allows the student to focus on the main topics and themes, get the essentials and then go on to look for more specialised/detailed reading if required.
This is an excellent book, that is easy to read and informative over a number of topics. I found that the students that had read this book produced much better pieces of work for thier assessments and so I am now classifying this as essential for the same course next year.
This is a useful, concise book which provides introductory information on key concepts in health studies. Particularly useful for someone new to the field.
One for student to purchase. Will be an assett for later part of Access and undergraduate level. Will be pointing them in this direction
Concise and well recommended as a quick guide
A really succinct introduction to many of the current key debates in health and social care. Fantastic resource for year 1 students.
What a super book, it is readable and very directed. I have found the layout and the order of the contents to be most appropriate for this subject and have enjoyed reading this book. The quality of information is excellent and I would recommend this book for all levels of nurse undertaking education studies.

This has cetainly been useful for the first year undergarduates in that many of the concepts fundamental to our course-= early childhood studies are covered clear;y & succintly in this textbook.
An excellent all round book - one for students to buy
