The JDR Clinical & Translational Research is a peer-reviewed, quarterly journal that encompasses all areas of clinical and translational research in the dental, oral and craniofacial sciences. The JDR Clinical & Translational Research is dedicated to publishing original research at the interface between discovery science and clinical application, with the translation of research into healthcare delivery systems at the individual patient, clinical practice, and community levels. Launched by the International Association for Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Research and the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research, JDR Clinical & Translational Research provides a resource for clinicians, scientists, academics, researchers and policy makers across the entire spectrum of the dental community.
Publications will report on clinical and translational research in all oral health-related topics using a variety of appropriate methodological approaches, including:
- Health Technology Assessment
- Quantitative
- Qualitative
- Multi-methods (e.g. mixed methods)
The JDR Clinical & Translational Research expands on its research content by including high-impact, global oral health policy statements and systematic reviews of issues that affect the oral health of the population. Unique to the JDR Clinical & Translational Research are reports that focus on research with an immediate potential to affect clinical and health services-related outcomes.

The JDR Clinical & Translational Research is a peer-reviewed journal created by the publishers of the Journal of Dental Research (JDR) to bring emerging contributions in discovery and translational science to clinical application for the healthcare community as it relates to oral, dental and craniofacial research. JDR Clinical & Translational Research seeks to publish the highest quality research articles on clinical and translational research including all of the dental specialties and implantology. Examples include behavioral sciences, cariology, oral & pharyngeal cancer, disease diagnostics, evidence based health care delivery, human genetics, health services research, periodontal diseases, oral medicine, radiology, and pathology. The JDR Clinical & Translational Research expands on its research content by including high-impact health care and global oral health policy statements and systematic reviews of clinical concepts affecting clinical practice. Unique to the JDR Clinical & Translational Research are advances in clinical and translational medicine articles created to focus on research with an immediate potential to affect clinical therapy outcomes.
