'This is a very good book for those students contemplating a career in youth justice and/or those students about to undertake a placement in this field. Newly qualified practitioners would also benefit from elements of this text...A straightfoward, comprehensive, practical handbook to working as a social worker in a YOT in England' -
British Journal of Social Work
'The book was factual, clear and thought provoking - excellent for first and second year undergraduates' -
This text has proved useful across criminology module's in addition to Early years. Thorough and well written, it has proved to be a helpful resource
Light touches on too many issues. Not written in a clear accessible way.
Useful introduction.
A must for any social worker entering into the field of youth justice. A very comprehensive, thorough and engaging text which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Thank you!
This book gives a very good overview of theory and practice relating to SW in YOTs and those working alongside YOTs. This is the book I recommend students read before commencing the module. It prepares them for a grounding in YOT practice issues, highlights policy and outlines the legislative framework and aspects of youthjustice development.
This book will be useful reading for students of all levels preparing for a career in youth justice and social work.
A good solid and well written addition to books on this subject area.Well constructed with relevant and interesting case studies that students can and will be encouraged to use. We hve many assignments and assessments that wouldbenefit from this work
Really useful book for students that are focusing their written work around Youth Justice or whom are placed in the Youth Justice service. Easy to read and navigate.
Good tool for any students considering specialising in youth justice or working with young people.
This book clearly explains issues that may arise in this specialist and complex area of work and would be a useful guide for students on placement and newly qualified social workers.
