- Clare Seymour - Anglia Ruskin University, UK
- Richard Seymour
Easy to read, practical book which simplifies complex issues related to family and the law. Very accessible for students to read.
Helpful as an additional resource for nurses but more applicable for social workers
This easily readable book allows students to understand the complexities of childcare law in the UK. It uses current case examples to make the issues live for the reader. Also, it is well set out and understandable. Essential reading for trainee Social Workers!
Clearly laid out, up-to-date, and written in an accessible way for non-lawyers. I have found the book to be very helpful for students as a specialist text on the social work and law module, and I am aware a colleague has also recommended it for use on the children and families module.
This is a really easy to read and understand guide to children's legislation with a focus on implementation in practice, which is of huge benefit to social workers in training.
Excellent text for those new to the topic of law. Clear and comprehensive .
This is a very well written and detailed book. The feedback from students is positive, in fact a number have now purchased this book for their studies. It is written in a way that is easy to dip in and out of, and gives very practical advice in addition to links for further research.
Excellent book - don't practice without it !
This is a useful and easy read book for students wishing to delve into law and social work with children and families.
The book goes beyond the technical to the critical interpretation of law and considers ethics and values as an influence.
