Wellcome Trust Open Access Policy

Sage is fully compliant with the Wellcome Trust Open Access Policy. Any article published by Sage that has had an Article Processing Charge (APC) funded by the Wellcome Trust will be published under a Creative Commons, Attribution (CC BY) licence, Version 4 (effective 1st April 2017) and will be automatically deposited in PubMed Central (PMC) on behalf of the author without embargo.

To facilitate this, it is essential that the corresponding author indicates that their work is Wellcome Trust funded when they submit their work by selecting the relevant FundRef ID in the manuscript submission.

Sage audits the funding status of all of our Open Access articles on a regular basis. If for any reason the correct process has not been followed, Sage undertakes to make any required adjustments in a timely manner.

These commitments also apply to APCs paid for by all other partners of the Charity Open Access Fund (COAF):
