Dana Randall Georgia Institute of Technology, USA

Dana Randall is the ADVANCE Professor of Computing, Professor of Computer Science and Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology and an external faculty member of the Santa Fe Institute. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley, her undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Harvard, and held postdoctoral positions at the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) and the Center for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science (DIMACS) in Princeton. Dr. Randall is a fellow of the American Mathematical Society and a National Associate of the National Academies. She served as the inaugural co-executive director of the Georgia Tech Institute for Data Engineering and Science (IDEaS) that she co-founded and served as director of the Algorithms and Randomness Center (ARC). Her research in randomized algorithms and stochastic processes bridges computer science, discrete mathematics and statistical physics, with a focus on emergent phenomena in computation.
