Dr Frances Lin has many years of experience in critical care nursing practice, education and research in Australia and China.

Dr Lin is passionate about improving patient care by translating best available evidence into clinical practice, with a recent focus on infection prevention in areas such as preventing surgical wound infections and central venous catheter related blood stream infections in acute and critical care patients. Her other research areas include improving teamwork, communication, and work processes in critical care setting.

Dr Lin is an active contributing member of Australian College of Critical Care Nurses (ACCCN), having served as a committee member for the ACCCN Queensland branch, a current member for ACCCN’s Quality and Safety Advisory Panel, having presented regularly at ACCCN’s ICE education conference as invited speaker, and being a journal reviewer for Australian Critical Care. Dr Lin was a member of the working party of the Australian Intensive Care Clinical Indicator review in 2015, and a member of the advisory group for the revision of the Australian critical care nursing education position statement in 2016.
Dr Lin has established her international reputation in critical care nursing education and research evidence by being invited as keynote speaker for international conferences and a contributor for the Australian Critical Care Nursing textbook (2nd and 3rd Ed). She is well connected with the Chinese nursing community and has ongoing collaborative teaching and research projects with a number of universities and professional organisations.
