Professor of Collective Intelligence, Public Policy and Social Innovation at University College London (UCL). Chief Executive of Nesta, the UK's innovation foundation, 2011-2019. 1997-2004 roles including director of the Government's Strategy Unit and head of policy in the Prime Minister's office. From 2004-2011 first CEO of the Young Foundation. Former reporter on BBC TV and radio; founder/cofounder of organisations, including Demos, Uprising, the Social Innovation Exchange and Action for Happiness. Former visiting professor at London School of Economics (LSE) and Melbourne University, senior visiting scholar at Harvard University, World Economic Forum Schwab Fellow from 2019-22.
