Karin Olson, PhD, RN University of Alberta, Canada

Dr. Olson completed a B. Sc. in Nursing at the University of Alberta (1976), a Masters in Health Science in Health Promotion at the University of Toronto (1981), and a PhD in Educational Psychology at the University of Alberta (1990). She is a Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta, where she is also a Distinguished Scholar at the International Institute for Qualitative Methodology and holds an adjunct appointment in the Division of Palliative Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Alberta. Her research program is focused on symptom management in the context of cancer, and on shared decision making in primary care and community-based mental health settings.
