Laura Fenton is currently completing a PhD in sociology at the University of Manchester. Her thesis explores the shifting uses and meanings of alcohol across the life course among three generations of women living in the North of England. She is an experienced qualitative researcher who has contributed to several research projects, most recently Understanding Everyday Participation (http://www.everydayparticipation.org/) and Step-Change (http://www.changing-mobilities.org.uk/). She has published sole and co-authored articles and book reviews in a number of health policy and social science journals, including Journal of Health Organization and Management, Space and Culture, and Women’s History Review. She is co-convenor of the British Sociological Association’s Alcohol Study Group and social media officer of the interdisciplinary Drinking Studies Network (https://drinkingstudies.wordpress.com/).
