Inclusive language considerations are especially important when discussing topics like age, appearance, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, emigration status, and weight.

These guidelines are for Editors and Editorial Teams to support diversity, equity, and inclusion in communicating and working with authors and reviewers and focuses on topics such as unconscious bias, language, and working with authors with disabilities.  Additional resources are available in our Taking Action on Diversity guide on the Sage Editor Gateway.

Reviewer Locator is Sage Track’s integrated reviewer recommender tool. Reviewer locator analyzes manuscript metadata and abstracts against papers indexed in the Web of Science to identify potential reviewers who have authored relevant research in the same field.
