The real strength of this book is the large amount of activities and case studies that will be extremely useful for Foundation degree students to conduct and will enable links between theory and practice. Excellent links to theorists and play, written in an accessible way for students.
This is an excellent text and will support those aspiring to leadership. Chapter nine provides a clear overview of the differences between leadership and management. Detailed case studies support the practitioner, to develop their knowledge and understanding of leadership and management in a contextualised manner. The chapter has a srong focus on the importance of reflection, within the early years sector. The text makes useful links to Teacher's Standards and Ofsted Reports.
A good read - supports students to understand the importance of becoming a reflective practitioner in day to day practice. The book has activities throughout each chapter that supports the learner to develop their own skills of reflection.
This text is particularly of use to students who take their foundation degree following A levels at school.
Very easy book to read, I have used this book and recommended to students it includes everything you need to read about becoming a reflective practitioner.
Supportive text for those who are new to the sector, as well as providing opportunities for thoughtful reflection for those with wider experience.
Covering themes such as child-centred practice, reflective practice, inclusive environments and safe practice, it introduces students to the wide scope of practice in the early years. Throughout, practical examples, case studies and theory focus features help students to make links between theory and practice and to begin to develop their own sense of professional practice in the sector.
A great book for any childcare practitioner. Easy to read and apply to practice.
Good all round book for early childhood students. The accessible chapters include case studies, summaries and self assessment questions. This book is also useful for early years course tutors for planning seminar activities and lectures.
