SAGE Publishing and the Literacy Research Association partner to publish Literacy Research: Theory, Method and Practice

May 5, 2016

Los Angeles, CA (May 5, 2016) SAGE Publishing is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the Literacy Research Association (LRA) to publish Literacy Research: Theory, Method and Practice (LR:TMP). An annual publication, LR:TMP reflects the research and theory on literacy and literacy education presented at the Annual Meeting of the LRA.

An outlet for both emerging and more established scholars, LR:TMP informs scholarship in the field by addressing and promoting constructive critique and discussion on the key areas of literacy research.

"As the Chair of the Literacy Research Association’s Publications Committee, it is exciting to watch the collaborative partnership with SAGE grow,” commented Rachel Karchmer-Klein. “A great example is the recently published volume of Literacy Research: Theory, Method and Practice (LR:TMP). This peer-reviewed journal serves as a critical outlet for LRA and has done so for over 50 years. This year, the LR:TMP editors worked tirelessly alongside SAGE to digitize content, digitize the review process, and make the content accessible online. These changes will surely highlight the publication in ways that promote the important work captured in its pages.”

Held in December, the Annual Meeting consists of peer-reviewed symposia, paper sessions, study groups, alternative format sessions, keynote addresses and research reviews of current trends and issues.

“The LRA Conference provides an opportunity for researchers and policymakers to communicate and expand their work, insights and ideas toward advancing literacy,” commented Bob Howard, Vice President of Journals, SAGE Publishing. “As an advocate of education, we’re pleased to publish the quality content in Literacy Research: Theory, Method and Practice and to further its global exposure.”

The theme of LRA’s 2016 Annual Conference is Mobilizing Literacy Research for Social Transformation. Click here for more information on the conference, and here for more information on the journal.
