very good read- advised students to review it before starting academic writing

Very useful text, provides valuable advice to students embarking on a Higher Education course.

Mrs Jeanne Landon-Campbell

There is almost too much in this book! Students will benefit from some of the ideas and exercises, but it is not as user friendly as, say, Stella Cottrell's book. Getting your dream job, for example, seems to me to be a chapter for another book.

Mrs Liz Lefroy
Social Work , The North East Wales Institute of Higher Education
November 4, 2009

An excellent text to help student prepare for their studies across all modules and final research study. It covers a wide range of issues and considers strategies that may be drawn upon. It is suitable for students at all undergraduate levels. It will be recommended on the course list of texts for the next intake.

Mrs Liz Cade

This book was well laid out with easy to follow examples and a natural progression. There is plenty of guidance for foundation level students and it would provide a good study support.
