Arun Elias Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand
Arun Elias is the Acting Head of the School of Management at Victoria University of Wellington.
Previously he was the Dean and Director of Rajagiri Business School, an AACSB and EFMD accredited business school in the South Indian state of Kerala. He also served as the Dean, College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies, Fiji National University, Fiji.
Arun has been associated with Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand since 1999. He was the Associate Dean (International and Accreditation) from 2017 to 2021, and Director of MBA and Post Experience programmes for two terms, from 2007 to 2010 and 2014 to 2017. His main research interests are in the areas of systems thinking, system dynamics, stakeholder management and operations and supply chain management.
In the business school accreditation space, he serves as an AASCB mentor, EFMD panel member, and AMBA panel member for business schools seeking international accreditation. He is also a member of the EFMD Programme Accreditation Committee. His international board memberships include Board Member, Advisory Board, School of Business, University of Wollongong, Australia, and Board member, International Advisory Board, Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Maribor, Slovenia.
In addition to his PhD in Management from Victoria University of Wellington, Arun has two Masters degrees, in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur and in Agricultural Engineering from Allahabad University, India. Before joining Victoria, he worked in Tata Steel India as an Industrial Engineer; in academia as a lecturer with Allahabad University; and in R & D as an Agro specialist in Sustainable Agriculture.
