John C. Lammers University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, USA

John C. Lammers is a Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  From 2010 until 2018 he served as the founding director of the Health Communication Online Masters of Science Program at the U of I. His research applies institutional theory to communication among health professionals and organizations. His scholarly work has appeared in The Academy of Management Review, The Journal of Professions and Organization, Management Communication Quarterly, Communication Research, Communication Theory, Health Communication, the Annals of Internal Medicine, and the Annals of Emergency Medicine among other scholarly journals. He held a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Mental Health and Medical Care Systems at Stanford University, and has served on the faculties of the University of Louisville (in Sociology), the UC Berkeley School of Public Health, and the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. He holds masters and doctorate degrees in Sociology from the University of California at Davis and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Humboldt State University.
