Suzanne Marie Leland is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of North Carolina–Charlotte. She was previously on the faculty at Kansas State University. Local governance structures and transportation policy are among her current research interests. Her work on privatization, government structure, consolidation, and other topics has been published in Public Administration Review, Review of Policy Research, American Review of Politics, Journal of Public Transportation, Public Administration Quarterly, Journal of Education Finance, and other journals. She has written two books and is coeditor (with Kurt Thurmaier) of City-County Consolidation: Promises Made, Promises Kept, due to be published in 2009. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Kansas in 1999.
