Aims and scope
The journal aims to present multifaceted methodological analysis and rich discourse on current issues in cultural management and cultural policy and to promote the development of research designs and methods relating to practices in these fields. The journal is open to all theoretical and methodological approaches. We welcome quantitative and qualitative, experimental and literature-based submissions, as long as authors adhere to scholarly rigor.

To strengthen the inter- and transdisciplinary character of research in the arts and culture, the journal publishes research articles (6000 to 10.000 words), exploratory essays (about 6.000 words), and case studies (about 4.000 words) from disciplines such as sociology and psychology (of the arts), (cultural) politics, economics, history, cultural studies, philosophy, political science, theatre studies, musicology, and arts education, or the interdisciplinary integration of these. The journal also accepts reports on conferences, symposia, workshops and similar events relating to cultural management and/or cultural policy.

Research articles must fulfill the highest standards in methodological and theoretical approaches; essays are evidence-based and give the opportunity to explore topics outside of a traditional research approach . Case studies are shorter research based-articles that offer insights into particular questions and methods applied in a specific research context.

Reviews of books and conferences (850 to 1.000 words) related to the topic of the special issue complement each issue. Reports submitted by event organizers not accepted.

Journal Politics
Each issue features one or more guest editors. In this way, we aim to bring forward different voices from different regions of the world and with different disciplinary backgrounds. The journal thus sees itself as a platform for a heterogeneous scientific discourse and as a regional, informed global forum.
The journal aims to disseminate evidence-based knowledge to improve the field. It is not committed to any theory or worldviews but solely to scientific knowledge.

Submissions
The peer-reviewed journal is published twice a year with a thematic section focusing on a special issue and an open section with contributions on varied topics. Contributions should be clearly written, well-structured, novel and interesting for our audience. Only original, unpublished manuscripts can be submitted via manuscriptcentral.
