Transfer, The European Review of Labour and Research, is the quarterly peer-reviewed scientific journal of the Research Department of the European Trade Union Institute (ETUI). Since 1995, the journal has published research findings of relevance to both the European trade union movement and the academic and research community with the aim of stimulating dialogue between the two.

Transfer helps to foster understanding of significant developments in the field of European trade union policy and industrial relations. The journal presents research findings of practical relevance to industrial relations. At the same time, it enables the academic and research community to gain access to the world of industrial relations in practice. Transfer contains contributions from a wide range of disciplines, including sociology, economics, political science, law and history.

Trade unions and trade union related organizations are entitled to a substantially discounted rate on the Institutional Subscription, Combined (Print & E-access) rate. Please contact SAGE Customer Services for availability.subscriptions@sagepub.co.uk +44 (0) 20 7324 8701

Transfer stimulates dialogue between the European trade union movement and the academic and research community. It contributes research findings on issues of strategic relevance for trade unions, in particular with regard to developments at the European level. Transfer publishes original peer-reviewed research on issues such as new developments in industrial relations, social policy, and labour market developments.

Three issues per year of Transfer are thematic. The remaining issue is non-thematic. The Editor and Editorial Committee of Transfer invite submissions to the non-thematic ('open') issues of articles whose subject matter falls within the aims and scope of Transfer.

Given the European perspective of Transfer, the journal particularly welcomes submissions which take a comparative approach or which situate their specific discussion in a wider European framework. In line with its aims, Transfer welcomes contributions not only from academics and researchers but also from practitioners. Transfer also welcomes proposals from external editors for thematic issues of the journal.
