Well written and clearly presented
Gould's book is perfect for student teachers who are undertaking PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, or any other teaching qualification, as it covers numerous theories of learning is great detail.
In particular, Gould covers behaviourism, cognitivism, and humanism is excellent and critical detail, which enables the reader to evaluate the pros and cons to determine which methods (or combination of methods) are most suited to individual learners and situations.
Good book which explains the theory with solid examples and exercises that can strengthen understanding. Can assist in classroom practice as the book also shows strategies and how these can help.
An excellent easy to read book which really helps learners come to grips with different learning theories and application within teaching - good to support both assignment writing and practical applications
A good basic book to understand the theories behind learning and that can be related directly to practice.
This book goes less in depth in the theories, but for the advantage of presenting a wider range of accounts. The practical applications provided make for some bonus as well.
An essential book to help the understanding of learning theory.
Very clear and concise information. Easy to read & follow. Will recommend as essential reading for my learners.
I like Jim Gould's approach and find the book readable.
This book is available for students in the library. They use it for one module of DTLLS Year 2 course.
