It provides practical advice and guidance to help you to shape your approach to teaching, learning and assessment. It has comprehensive coverage of the learning you need to prepare you to teach. Throughout, the authors offer a range of exciting and practical examples to help you to expand your 'vocational teaching toolkit'. Included are lesson plans, assessment grids, assignment briefs, ideas to engage employers, help on marking vocational evidence, planning trips and visits and much more.
Fills a current gap in our range of course books, with a thoughtful focus on vocational curricula.
An excellent book which provides additional and supporting information to develop a learners understanding of the field of teaching and training. We will recommend this to our learners.
This is an easy to read book which helps students understand the links between theory and practice. Would recommend for trainees teachers in FE.
A good guide to teaching in a specialist area. Practical and with links to theory explaining why approaches work.
As an assessor in Apprenticeships, this book is an essential read to all who are progressing in their TAQA or just refreshing their skills. Helps to understand individuals and barriers to learning.
This text has been quite useful for the teaching teams of the PTLLS and DTLLS. The authors provide current information for vocational teachers on policy and how that affects their practice given the changing landscape.
There is also a useful chapter on observing vocational teaching practice which our college observation team would benefit from.
Thank you.
As with other titles in the Learning Matters series, this text is structured into short, accessible chapters, covering all the key topics.
This particular text provides some good links to sources of additional reading, resources and software that are worth investigating if you are working in this field.
The text is mainly geared towards those working in more traditional education settings. It would be good to see some coverage of online / distance education.
