Person Centred Counselling
It is now 25 years since the first edition of Person-Centred Counselling in Action appeared, offering the definitive exposition of the theory and practice of the person-centred approach. Since then the book has supported and inspired hundreds of thousands of trainees and practitioners worldwide. This important Fourth Edition maintains the book's accessibility, clarity and verve whilst incorporating new developments in the approach. John McLeod joins authors Dave Mearns and Brian Thorne to contribute an exciting new chapter on research relevant to the person-centred field.
Person-Centred Counselling in Action, Fourth Edition will be an invaluable resource for those embarking on their first stages of training. Well-established practitioners and even seasoned scholars will continue to find much to interest and stimulate them.

This book has an excellent development of the Core Conditions as well as an excellent critique of the counselling process.
This publication up-dates previous titles and expands the Person-Centred knowledge base by including up to date theories and research.
A clear and accessible book for all counsellors and counsellors-in-training. It offers a thorough grounding in the core philosophy and key concepts of the approach. Examples throughout offer insight into the person-centred therapeutic relationship. Includes a chapter exploring recent developments in the theory and also one exploring research, with a useful question and answer section.
Update to an already excellent book. Definitely the core text for our new Year 1 and will be a core text for a new module in our Year 3
This is an excellent book which embeds the practical application of Carl Roger's Person Centred Approach into real, live examples. This ensures a full and comprehensive understanding of the theories, allowing students to grasp these in a realist way.
Excellent book as always from Dave Mearns. This book is clearly written and well structured.
Continued from previous semester's work. Best intro to person-centred for those who wish to follow it up.
An excellent text that makes understanding the person centred approach easy to grasp. Demonstrates the core conditions of empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence brilliantly and relates them to "real life" scenarios.
A must have book for anyone who is practicing as a person centred therapist. It is also very student friendly and should be on the reading list for all counselling trainers and trainees. A fantastic, beautifully written book that has stood the test of time.
A great supportive text for our students
