Nail research fast with the Little Quick Fixes
Quick results. Authoritative answers. Great research. SAGE Publishing launches the ‘Little Quick Fixes’ series to provide speedy but authoritative answers to the most common problems students face during their research.
The new series covers all stages of the research process– from tackling a research project, proposal and design, to getting good data quickly and ‘getting it’ with tricky statistical concepts. Designed with the student at the center, the pocket-sized texts are jammed full of visuals and hands-on activities to grab the reader’s attention. Features include quizzes, step-by-step activities, check-points, and mini summaries - all to guide students through each step in both an engaging and entertaining way.
“Building on the concept of our ‘Little Green Books’, which have taught generations of social and behavioral scientists how to do quantitative research, the Little Quick Fixes tackle the small but pivotal challenges students face, but with a whole new look. Perfect for anyone starting on their research journey, these vibrant, little titles provide students with a lively way to get their research done – with no fluff and concrete results”, commented Mila Steele, Publisher at SAGE.
Research methods hold the key to the analytical and critical thinking skills that are essential for students to succeed in both their studies and future careers. A pioneer of mixed methods, evaluation and new statistical techniques, SAGE has been committed to publishing in this field since its’ founding and continues to lead the way as researchers tackle new challenges, from big data to replicability and public impact. The Little Quick Fixes are a continuation of this aim as we look to support of a new generation of students and researchers in a changing learning environment.
With five initial titles, each text provides readers with an hour’s guide to nail key concepts, and include:
- Research Question, Zina O’Leary
- Research Proposal, Zina O’Leary
- Understand Probability, John MacInnes
- Know your variables, John MacInnes
- Know your numbers, John MacInnes
A further five titles are planned for release later in the year.
