Fantastic book giving a good insight into the different theories and approaches to learning in the Early Years. Easy to follow and understand with a good flow throughout. A book that will be recommended to aid my students learning on the foundation degree.

What I liked about this book was the summary at the end of each chapter, and the further reading including websites, books and references. An excellent resource for those studying at level 5 and applying theorists thoughts and beliefs to how children develop. Have used this book to suppplement my teaching of Unit 3 and 5 on HNC Advanced Practice.

This is a valuable source of information on theorists. Chapter 1 gives a contextual background on Reggio Emilia education. The final thoughts sections are particularly insightful. The chapters also provide good questions for discussion which could be used in lessons to develop reflection. I found the further reading sections linking to the different levels too for stretching students. Although it is aimed at level 5 and above, the book could still be used as a supplement for level 3 students who need to be stretched further in their research skills and to develop wider reading.
